Have been working on the Celtic Autumn lady and not much further to go until the finish - however I have to put her away for a couple of weeks as I need to start a couple of smaller things for birthdays etc

Ostara - the Spring Equinox

At this time of year, Pagans like myself, celebrate Ostara - the Spring Equinox and one of the 8 sabbats of the wheel of the year .... as Wicca is an earth/nature based belief, we celebrate the lengthening days and growing light, plant seeds and celebrate new life ... the dark days are over and we welcome the sun ... this is the festival of the Goddess Eostre and her totem animal is the hare and her symbol is the egg .... It is said that at this Equinox, Druids painted eggs red to welcome the sun ....
Does that remind you of  'Easter'   yet another pagan festival highjacked , but whatever your beliefs have a happy time

For all UK pagans - please remember to put Pagan down in the UK census this Sunday -let us be counted !

Calendar Girls gifts

In our group 'Friendly Stitchers'  we have lots of exchanges and one of them is 'Calendar Girls'  - Karen puts names of folks who want to join in, into groups of perhaps 5 or 6, and within that group members are matched up with a month of the year .... when that month comes round, the other members send stash to the Calendar Girl of that month, in this way we all manage to get some lovely stash on our given month and then send out each time to the other members ....  I was the Calendar Girl for February, and this is the lovely stash I got from my group ...

Some lovely pinkish cotton fabric which I already have plans for! A sweet little ort container but I have other plans for that ;)  a little zipped bag, and some fantastic threads including  Weeks Dye Works, Bijoux metallics and Kreinic overdyed metallic ( never seen those - thanks Meg ! ) Caron waterlilies, wildflowers, Dinky dyes, silks from Hand Dyed Fibers and needlepoint silks - the picture does not do this stash justice !

My thanks to Meg, Mouse, Teejay and Jillann xx

Been busy ...

Well I have been quite busy the past few days .... I bought some lovely blue beads and decided to make some jewellery for myself ... ended up making a nice necklace and some matching ear-rings and had enough left over to make some ear-rings for sister Linda as well ..... see what you think  .... I need some more practice but am quite pleased with these ...

Also managed to stitch some more of Celtic Autumn - this is growing quite quickly and I am enjoying stitching it
